    Dear, dear Eric
Could I share my unsolicited observations? I’m not gonna “tickle your starfish with a feather” as The King does. But I understand…

First, you often sound unfamiliar with your equipment. And especially here. Get on the mike, Eric. GET ON THE MIKE. “KISS IT” as they used to say. You need to ask yourself- Do you *want* to be heard?

Overall, and always- you’ll learn the most important things by simply identifying with your audience: WATCH your own show! Or do you hate watching yourself? B/c you need to be in love with yourself to get others interested. Everyone benefits by some therapy, and some meditation practice. Do you want to succeed in the field?

    About your content problems…
The master of improv, HowardStern, can extemporize on mic. He’s clever & practiced. Few will ever be able to pull off his long brilliant POV spiel. He has a unique legacy and a lifetime of prep. Are you thinking perhaps you’re at this same level?

So you should spend some time with this. After you tape, get involved in a taste of editing. Yes, it’s real work- well-paid pro work which you could learn. Even Stern uses edited segments. But editors will discard lots of content. It’s called making it “TIGHT”.

And how about keeping a few jokes on hand… And try out some side-kicks until one especially ‘clicks’. You have some contact with this business. Invite writers to submit to you on spec. They might get on Stern. And as you know *that* is showbiz crack.
You could get other interesting people to work with you. But you cant sustain the expectations of glamour. Try being generous to some new faces. Try being half as generous as Stern has been in working with you. You should especially invite the medically-handicapped community to share your luck.

You know Stern will want more of that.
